Army Chief Reviews Security Ahead of J&K Assembly Elections

Accompanied by top military officials, he aimed to assess the current situation and receive briefings from security forces and formation commanders.

Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi held discussions with Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan on Thursday, according to an official spokesperson.
The Army Chief was joined by Lieutenant General MV Suchindra Kumar, GOC-in-C Northern Command, and Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, GOC of the 15 Corps.
Sources revealed that General Dwivedi's visit was focused on assessing the security situation in light of the upcoming assembly elections. Briefings from security forces and formation commanders are part of the planned agenda.
