An Aam Aadmi Party worker named Bachitar Singh was shot dead on Thursday evening by two unidentified men on a motorcycle in Naushera Pannuan village, Tarn Taran district, police reported.
The 42-year-old Singh sustained bullet injuries in his chest and abdomen, leading to his immediate death upon arrival at a local hospital.
Authorities are investigating the incident, including examining surveillance footage from the vicinity to track down the suspects involved in the attack.
