India and China Commit to Urgent Disengagement Efforts in Eastern Ladakh
India and China have agreed to increase their efforts to achieve complete disengagement along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. The agreement was reached during talks between NSA Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held in Russia. The commitment aims to stabilize and rebuild bilateral relations.

India and China on Thursday committed to accelerating their efforts towards the complete disengagement of troops at the remaining friction points in eastern Ladakh. This commitment followed talks between India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in St Petersburg, Russia.
During the meeting, Doval stressed that peace and tranquility in border areas, along with respect for the Line of Actual Control (LAC), are crucial for the normalization of bilateral ties. The meeting coincided with a conclave of national security advisors of BRICS nations.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) highlighted that the Doval-Wang meeting provided a valuable opportunity to review recent efforts and expedite the resolution of outstanding border issues, which are essential for stabilizing and rebuilding India-China relations.
