Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday conducted an aerial survey of Malkangiri district, heavily affected by recent flash floods, and directed officials to submit a comprehensive damage assessment report within seven days.

Majhi instructed district officials to ensure that all affected individuals receive governmental aid, highlighting efforts to enhance road communication, food and water supply, housing, health services, and compensation distribution.

Accompanied by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari and Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Majhi announced intentions to expedite restoration work in the flood-hit areas. Pujari noted that crops over 8,830 hectares and numerous houses and roads were severely impacted, and assured that compensatory measures following the Odisha Relief Code are underway.
