The Department of Posts is expanding its services by integrating new technologies to better serve corporate clients, exporters, and local entrepreneurs, especially those in rural and remote areas. In a significant step forward, the Dakghar Niryat Kendra (DNK) initiative aims to boost the export capabilities of local businesses. Products under ODOP (One District, One Product), GI (Geographical Indication), and MSME categories can now reach global markets efficiently through the postal network.

Postmaster General of the North Gujarat Region, Shri Krishna Kumar Yadav, highlighted these developments during an interactive session on "Advancement in Postal Services and Services for Exporters," hosted by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) in Ahmedabad. The session featured presentations on postal advancements and discussions with various exporters.

Shri Yadav explained that DNKs act as one-stop centers for exporters, streamlining the process of commercial exports via the postal channel. Exporters can now book parcels from their premises and enjoy online customs clearance, eliminating the need for physical visits to post offices. DNKs offer services such as export documentation assistance, label printing with barcodes, online postal bill of export filing, and document-free customs clearance. These services have empowered artisans, traders, and self-help groups from smaller towns and villages to export globally.

He further emphasized the postal network's efficiency in connecting local entrepreneurs to international markets. Special sorting hubs and nodal delivery centers have been established for Speed Post and Business Parcels, while cash-on-delivery services are available for e-commerce products. Real-time delivery status updates via the Postman Mobile Application (PMA) and online tracking have made postal services more transparent and accessible.

Shri Yadav also mentioned innovations such as the 'Rail Post Gati Shakti Express Cargo Service,' launched in collaboration with Indian Railways, as well as the introduction of services like Click & Book, Parcel Packaging Units, and digital payments through QR codes in post offices. Quick international mail transmission is supported by the Foreign Post Office in Shahibaug, Ahmedabad, and the International Business Center in Surat.

In his address, Shri Yadav underscored the expansion of additional services through post offices, including money remittance, savings banks, insurance, India Post Payments Bank, Aadhaar, passport services, and common service centers. He celebrated the evolution of postal services from traditional mail to digital innovations, bringing new possibilities for entrepreneurs and exporters across India.
