In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, properties valued above Rs 1 crore belonging to three alleged drug peddlers were attached in Jammu district on Thursday, according to a police officer.

The officer revealed that two residential houses of Javed Ahmed, his son, and Abdul Majeed, also known as Bhallu of Lower Ragoora (Dawara), were seized under Section 68(E)(F) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

An investigation conducted by Jammu police established that the properties were bought with proceeds from the narcotics trade, leading to the registration of three cases against the accused individuals, the officer added.
