Police investigating the murder of a 25-year-old Nagpur woman, allegedly by a hotel owner, have uncovered an international dimension to the case, an official disclosed on Thursday.

Mahesh Keshavrao Wadaskar, a 57-year-old hotel owner in Ramtek, Nagpur, was arrested recently for poisoning Priya Bagde and burying her body. Wadaskar and Bagde were in a relationship, but tension escalated after she began blackmailing him following an abortion he had coerced her into last year.

The situation became more complex when Bagde befriended and virtually married John Gluck, a 70-year-old retired UK resident. Wadaskar, disturbed by this development and Bagde's new name change to Priya Gluck, poisoned her on August 16 during a meeting at his hotel. Police tracked Wadaskar down using Bagde's last mobile phone location. He is currently in police custody as the investigation continues.
