Police have detained two juveniles and arrested two men in connection with the theft of Rs 7.37 lakh worth of ornaments from a local train in Mumbai, an official reported on Thursday.

A 54-year-old passenger discovered his black bag, containing 7 kg of silver and 20 gm of gold ornaments, missing during a journey from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Kalyan on August 31. He noticed suspicious activity at Thakurli station and filed a complaint at the Dombivli railway police station.

A joint team, comprising the Special Task Force and Kalyan Crime Branch, used CCTV footage and informants to track down the suspects. Altmas Razzak Khan (25) and Shubham Sandeep Thasale (20) were arrested, and two juveniles were detained on September 5, with all stolen items recovered. The juveniles have been returned to their parents.
