Police have successfully recovered stolen ornaments worth Rs. 7.37 lakh from a local train in Maharashtra's Thane district, leading to the arrest of two individuals and the detention of two juveniles, an official confirmed.

The theft occurred on August 31 as the 54-year-old victim was traveling on a suburban train from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in South Mumbai to Kalyan in Thane. Noticing his black bag, containing 7 kg of silver and 19.96 gm of gold ornaments, missing after a group suspiciously disembarked at Thakurli, the passenger lodged a complaint with the Dombivli railway police.

A joint operation by the Special Task Force and Kalyan Crime Branch employed CCTV footage and informant tips, culminating in the September 5 arrests of Altmas Razzak Khan (25) and Shubham Sandeep Thasale (20), and the recovery of the stolen goods. The juveniles were released to their parents.
