US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti has had a key meeting with Vice Admiral Sanjay Singh, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of the Western Naval Command, to discuss bolstering maritime security cooperation and strengthening the bilateral naval relationship.

Held on Wednesday in Mumbai, the meeting saw Garcetti accompanied by US Consul General Mike Hankey and other American officials.

'Discussions were held on strengthening maritime security cooperation and the bilateral naval relationship,' the Western Naval Command noted in a post on social platform X. Notably, India and the US already enjoy robust ties in space, nuclear energy, and defense sectors.
