BJP MLA Raja Singh has urged Hyderabad police Commissioner C V Anand to implement stringent measures to prevent incidents of public drinking and harassment of women during the Ganesh idol immersion on September 17.
In a letter addressed to the Commissioner, Singh highlighted that in recent years, individuals with 'malicious intent' have joined the immersion processions, engaging in inappropriate activities such as public drinking and targeting women by throwing water packets at them.
Singh, the MLA from Goshamahal, called such behavior deeply disrespectful, emphasizing that it disrupts the spiritual significance of the Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. He urged law enforcement to take decisive action to preserve the sanctity of the festival.
