Tripura's Flood Crisis: Immediate Action and Financial Support
Tripura's Chief Minister, Manik Saha, has urged swift preparation of a memorandum for final flood damage assessment to be submitted soon. The floods between August 19 and 23 claimed 36 lives and impacted 14 lakh people. Restoration efforts and compensation distributions are ongoing, with 3,873 individuals still in relief camps.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha directed officials to expedite the final damage assessment memorandum after the recent floods, aiming to submit it to the Ministry of Home Affairs by week's end, an official confirmed.
The floods between August 19 and 23 resulted in 36 fatalities and affected around 14 lakh residents in Tripura. During a review meeting with secretaries, Saha stressed the urgency of sending the damage assessment to MHA. In a press conference, Revenue Secretary Brijesh Pandey shared that ex gratia payments to families of the deceased and compensation for damaged houses are ongoing, with 26 families compensated so far.
Currently, 3,873 flood-affected people are housed in 67 relief camps where they receive food, water, and medical aid, Pandey stated. He assured that financial constraints are not hindering restoration work. The government has already started providing financial assistance for damaged homes.
