French authorities have successfully foiled three plots aimed at the Olympic and Paralympic Games held in Paris, as well as other cities that were part of the summer events, the national counterterrorism prosecutor revealed on Wednesday.

Prosecutor Olivier Christen disclosed that these conspiracies included plans to attack Israeli institutions or representatives in Paris during the event period from July 26 to August 11. He noted that the Israeli team was not directly targeted. Further details were not provided.

In connection with these foiled plots, five individuals, including a minor, have been apprehended and are facing various terrorism-related charges while in pre-trial detention. The threats occurred during a period marked by the Israel-Hamas conflict and Russia's war in Ukraine.
