Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has demanded a detailed report from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan concerning allegations made by Left MLA P V Anvar. Anvar claims police illegally tapped ministers' phone calls and implicated certain officers in illicit activities.
According to an official source, the Governor's letter seeks to understand the government's measures addressing these alleged serious offences. Raj Bhavan considers the purported phone tapping as a breach of law and Supreme Court guidelines.
Additionally, the Governor has requested information about a leaked phone conversation between Anvar and IPS officer Sujith Das, previously suspended for his involvement in the scandal. The Governor's move increases the pressure on Chief Minister Vijayan to act against his close aides accused by Anvar.
