In a statement on Wednesday, Alexei Smirnov, the regional governor, reported that the economic damage from Ukraine's attack on Russia's Kursk region is estimated to be at least 85 billion roubles ($931.00 million).
Smirnov further disclosed that more than 150,000 residents have been evacuated from the region since the start of the attack. The financial loss highlights the significant impact on the local economy.
The exchange rate at the time of the report was $1 to 91.3000 roubles, exacerbating the financial burden on the region.
