Europe's second-highest court on Wednesday upheld EU sanctions against Russia's National Settlement Depository (NSD), first imposed in 2022 following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

Russia's NSD, which had challenged the sanctions, faced a setback as the Luxembourg-based General Court dismissed its action, reinforcing the EU's stance.

"By its judgment delivered today, the General Court dismisses NSD's action," stated the court in an official pronouncement.
