A man was arrested in connection with the murder of an Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader in Khanna, as confirmed by police sources on Tuesday.

AAP leader Tarlochan Singh was reportedly shot dead in Ludhiana's Khanna subdivision on Monday evening. Police suspect Ranjeet Singh, who allegedly committed the crime while harboring a longstanding grudge against the victim.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Khanna, Ashwini Gotyal, stated that a licensed revolver, believed to be the murder weapon, was seized from the accused. Investigations suggest the murder resulted from personal enmity dating back to a 2019 dispute that left Ranjeet injured.

Tarlochan Singh, president of AAP's Kisan wing in Khanna and a resident of Ikolaha village, was attacked while returning home from his farm. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
