Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena assessed the rollout of three new criminal legislations and urged the chief secretary to expedite the recruitment process through a newly formed committee of all stakeholder departments, Raj Niwas officials disclosed on Tuesday.

He expressed satisfaction with the current status and pace of the new laws' implementation, which took effect on July 1, replacing older colonial-era laws like the Indian Penal Code. The recent meeting also covered the swift procurement of Mobile Forensic Vans, with 15 already operational and more expected by month-end.

Efforts to address space issues for the Directorate of Prosecution have led to the allocation of 13,000 sq ft at the DMRC Building in Shastri Park. Additionally, the National Informatics Centre submitted a budget of Rs 40 lakh to resolve technical glitches, facilitating online charge sheets by the Delhi Police.
