Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has criticized the BJP over the teachers' recruitment case in Uttar Pradesh, alleging double standards that harm both reserved and unreserved youth. She voiced these concerns on X, a day after the Supreme Court stayed an order from the Allahabad High Court mandating a fresh selection list for 69,000 assistant teachers.

The Supreme Court also paused the High Court's decision to annul previous selection lists from June 2020 and January 2022, affecting 6,800 candidates. Gandhi Vadra called the BJP's approach anti-youth and anti-social justice. She argued that a reservation scam robbed Dalit and backward candidates of their rights and accused the BJP of delaying social justice.

The Supreme Court bench, led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, has issued notices to the UP government and the Basic Education Board for a final hearing. Both parties are to submit short written notes not exceeding seven pages, with the matter set for hearing in late September.
