KYIV, Sept 10 (Reuters) - Overnight Russian drone and missile attacks injured at least three people, damaged buildings, and caused fires across Ukraine, authorities said on Tuesday. The air force reported that it shot down 38 out of the 46 drones launched by Russia during the nighttime assault across 13 regions, according to a statement on the Telegram messaging app. Russia also employed two missiles in its strike, the statement added.
Regional governor Ihor Taburets stated that the attack injured two people and damaged several buildings in the city of Cherkasy. An infrastructure facility in the region was also harmed, resulting in a fire that has since been extinguished. Kyivan regional governor Ruslan Kravchenko noted that while a building and open area around the capital were hit, the Kyiv city authorities reported no damage or casualties within the capital itself.
Meanwhile, in the southern region of Kherson, a kindergarten and cars in a parking lot sustained damage from the attacks. One individual was injured as a result of the drone strike, according to regional governor Oleksander Prokudin. Russia continues to deny deliberately targeting civilians despite numerous casualties since its full-scale invasion began in February 2022.
