Two Arrested for Alleged Molestation and Casteist Remarks Against Teenage Dalit Girl

Two men have been apprehended on charges of molesting a 16-year-old Dalit girl and making casteist remarks, officials said on Tuesday.

The arrested individuals, Taseen and Shalim, both in their mid-20s, were detained on Monday following a complaint lodged by the victim's father at Sikheda police station, as confirmed by Circle Officer Rupali Rao.

The complaint stated that the accused attempted to molest the girl and made derogatory comments on September 8. They also allegedly threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident. Consequently, an FIR was filed under multiple sections, including the POCSO Act and the SC/ST atrocities prevention act, police said.
