An investigation into the triple murder in Ferozepur has unveiled that the primary target was Dildeep Singh, the local police disclosed on Monday. This revelation followed the arrests of six individuals from Maharashtra.

The shooting, which took place on September 3 near a gurdwara in Ferozepur, resulted in the deaths of Dildeep Singh, Jaspreet Kaur, and Akashdeep, while injuring two others. Officials have identified those arrested as Gurpreet Singh of Chohla Sahib in Tarn Taran, Prince of Kunde village in Ferozepur, and Ravinder Singh, Sukhchain Singh, Akshay, and Rajbeer Singh, all from Basti Bagh Wali in Ferozepur.

During the incident, the victims were traveling in a car when they were attacked by assailants. Jaspreet Kaur was on her way to distribute wedding invitations. The preliminary investigation suggests a personal enmity involving Dildeep Singh, who had a criminal record, and Buvnesh Chopra alias Ashish and Harpreet Singh alias Happy Mal. The Assistant Inspector General of the Anti-Gangster Task Force, Gurmeet Chauhan, confirmed that the six suspects will be brought to Ferozepur for further interrogation.

The operation, named 'Desert,' involved studying crime scene evidence and the backgrounds of the deceased, culminating in the arrest of Daljit Singh. His interrogation led to further leads that helped apprehend the suspects in Maharashtra. The joint efforts of Punjab Police and Maharashtra Police proved crucial in intercepting a sports utility vehicle and detaining those involved.
