In a shocking incident in Bihar's capital Patna, BJP member Munna Sharma was gunned down by bike-borne assailants outside a restaurant early Monday morning, police confirmed.
''Munna Sharma was shot at by three unidentified bike-borne armed assailants outside a restaurant while he waited for an autorickshaw. The perpetrators fled the scene immediately after the shooting,'' said Patna Rural Superintendent of Police Raushan Kumar. Sharma succumbed to his injuries at a government hospital shortly after.
A case has been registered and a manhunt launched to apprehend the gunmen. Forensic experts have collected evidence from the scene, and officials are analyzing CCTV footage for clues. The incident has ignited a political firestorm, with opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav accusing the state government of failing to maintain law and order. Union minister Chirag Paswan has called for strict enforcement of the law to prevent such crimes.
