AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami has called for an urgent overhaul of hostels under the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, citing poor sanitation and substandard food.
Inmates have reported inadequate non-vegetarian food distribution and low-quality meals, adding that the fund allocation for food is insufficient.
Palaniswami urged the state government to set up a special committee to address these issues and improve basic amenities for the students.
