Police have taken legal action against the owner of a three-storey building in Transport Nagar, which collapsed on Saturday, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals. Joint Commissioner of Police (JCP) Amit Verma confirmed that an investigation is underway and the accused will be apprehended soon.

An FIR has been lodged against Rakesh Singhal, the owner of the Harmilap building, following a complaint by MK Singh, the police outpost in-charge at Transport Nagar. The case is being investigated by a team from Sarojini Nagar police station.

The building's collapse initiated a significant rescue operation, during which 28 people were also injured. The government has set up a three-member committee to probe the incident and determine accountability. The building housed a motor workshop, medical godown, and cutlery warehouse across its three floors.
