A devastating fire broke out at Isiolo Girls High School in central Kenya late Saturday, injuring at least three students and causing significant property damage, according to the Kenya Red Cross and police reports.

This tragic event comes shortly after a deadly blaze at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Nyeri, central Kenya, on Friday, which claimed the lives of 21 students. Initial reports listed 17 fatalities, but a government statement seen by Reuters on Sunday confirmed the toll had risen to 21.

Emergency services quickly contained both fires. Police, fire, and rescue teams were seen using flashlights in a bid to find any students and recover salvageable property from the damaged dormitories, a Reuters witness reported.
