Lebanese Paramedics Targeted in Deadly Israeli Strike

Three Lebanese paramedics were killed and two others wounded in an Israeli attack while extinguishing fires in the southern town of Faroun, the Lebanese health ministry reported on Saturday. The ministry stated that Israeli forces targeted the Lebanese Civil Defence while they responded to fires caused by recent Israeli airstrikes, hitting a fire truck in the process.

The Israeli military countered by announcing that the IDF had struck and eliminated terrorists from the Amal terrorist organization within a Hezbollah military structure in Froun. Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati condemned the attack as a breach of international law and called an emergency meeting with Western ambassadors and international organizations scheduled for Monday to address the escalating conflict.

The health ministry further detailed that 25 paramedics, two health workers, and 94 others have been casualties due to Israel's aggressions. This marks the second attack on an emergency team in less than 12 hours. In retaliation, Hezbollah launched a missile strike on an Israeli military headquarters, causing casualties. The conflict has intensified since October 8, resulting in the displacement of tens of thousands of civilians on both sides of the Lebanese-Israeli border.
