Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh met with Governor L. Acharya on Saturday evening amid escalating violence in the state that has led to the deaths of seven people and injuries to more than 15 others over the last five days.
Chief Minister Singh hurried to the Governor's residence immediately following an emergency meeting with ruling coalition MLAs and ministers at the CM secretariat. The urgent meeting was called to discuss the deteriorating law and order situation, according to official sources. Earlier, the meeting of 25 legislators focused on recent attacks by armed miscreants, highlighting the government's concern over the violence.
The developments underscore the escalating crisis in Manipur as authorities struggle to restore peace and order in the state.
