Fugitive from 2005 Kerala Case Apprehended in UAE
A man from Kerala, Khamis Othman AL Hammadi Otham, involved in a 2005 assault case, was extradited from UAE to India following a collaborative operation between the CBI, Kerala Police, and INTERPOL. Otham was wanted for a grievous sword attack on Shamsudheen, the proprietor of a daily newspaper, in Kozhikode. A Red Notice was issued for his apprehension in February 2020.

A man from Kerala, Khamis Othman AL Hammadi Otham, was extradited from the UAE, confirmed the CBI on Saturday.
Otham, wanted in a 2005 case for allegedly hacking a man in Kozhikode, was transported to New Delhi and handed over to Kerala police on September 6. The victim, Shamsudheen, was grievously assaulted with swords and is the proprietor of a daily called 'The Criminal'.
The CBI, in coordination with Kerala Police and INTERPOL NCB-Abu Dhabi, executed the arrest following a Red Notice issued on February 17, 2020. The National Central Bureau for INTERPOL in India facilitated the cooperation among all law enforcement agencies involved.
