A violent dispute over the construction of a small drain resulted in the death of a 65-year-old woman and injuries to her son in Chotki Math village, Patna, on Friday, according to police reports.
Residents were divided over the drain's construction, with one faction supporting it and the other opposing it. The argument escalated, culminating in stone-throwing and fatal injuries to Devkunwar Devi. Her son, Chote Lal, was also hurt but is reported to be in stable condition.
Station House Officer (SHO) Lalit Vijay stated that the altercation began as a verbal dispute before turning violent. A stone struck Devi on the head, leading to her death after being transported to the hospital. Authorities have registered a case, initiated a manhunt for the absconding suspects, and detained several individuals for questioning.
