Tragic Lightning Strike Claims Lives of Two CRPF Personnel at Anti-Naxalite Training Centre
Two CRPF constables were killed in a lightning strike during a training session at an anti-Naxalite centre in Dantewada, Chhattisgarh. The personnel were struck amidst their training, and despite being rushed to a hospital, they were declared dead. This incident follows another similar tragedy in Bijapur district.

In a tragic turn of events, two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel lost their lives on Friday afternoon during a training session at an anti-Naxalite centre in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district. The incident occurred around 3 pm, prompting immediate medical response.
Constables Mahendra Kumar and S Sahuat Alam, members of the CRPF's 111th battalion, were struck by lightning and severely injured. Despite being swiftly transported to Dantewada hospital, the doctors declared them deceased upon arrival.
Police officials indicated that this is the second such incident within a week, with another CRPF jawan succumbing to a lightning strike in Bijapur. The CRPF is significantly deployed across south Bastar, which includes Dantewada, Sukma, and Bijapur, as part of their anti-Naxalite operations.
