Inter-Faith Couple Found Hanging: Community Tensions Escalate

The bodies of a middle-aged, inter-faith couple were discovered hanging from a tree in Bijehra village on Friday, according to police reports. Authorities suspect a suicide.
The couple, Salimun (45) and Nakachhed, had been in a relationship for 12-14 years. Their affair had caused tensions within their respective families, particularly leading to a recent altercation between Salimun's husband Mushtaq and Nakachhed.
Local law enforcement, alerted about the incident around 9:30 AM, have initiated a probe into the case. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Prakash Kumar noted the religious differences between the couple and confirmed ongoing investigations with no criminal complaint filed yet.
Post-mortem examinations are underway, and further legal procedures are being observed.
