Tragedy in Transport: Ambulance Helper Arrested for Assault and Negligence

In a tragic incident, a helper from a private ambulance has been arrested for sexually assaulting a woman while transporting her terminally ill husband. The accused also disconnected the patient's oxygen supply, resulting in his death, according to local authorities.

The police revealed that the woman's harrowing ordeal began when she decided to take her husband home on August 29 due to financial constraints. During the journey, the ambulance driver and helper allegedly harassed her. When she resisted, the driver halted the vehicle in Basti district and forced her, her brother and her husband out.

In desperation, the woman contacted the local police, who arranged for another ambulance to take her husband to Gorakhpur Medical College. Tragically, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The woman filed a police complaint on Wednesday in Lucknow. Authorities are still searching for the ambulance driver.
