In a significant development, the Vigilance department has sought direction from the Uttarakhand council of ministers on filing a case against Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi for allegedly acquiring disproportionate assets.
During the court session on September 2, the Special Judge Vigilance/First Additional Sessions Judge Manish Mishra revealed that the matter was referred to the council of ministers on July 8, who will now decide on the issue.
RTI activist Vikesh Negi had previously lodged a complaint in March, alleging Joshi's corrupt practices. The Vigilance's preliminary investigation confirmed the allegations, and now the council's decision is eagerly awaited.
