In a significant development in the probe into the 2023 attack on the Indian High Commission in London, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday charge-sheeted a key accused, Inderpal Singh Gaba, an official statement revealed.

The charge sheet was filed in a special NIA court in Delhi. Gaba, a UK national residing in Hounslow originally from New Delhi, was identified as an active participant in the anti-India protest on March 22, 2023, linked to the Khalistani secessionist agenda.

Gaba was arrested by the NIA on April 25, following extensive investigations proving his role in the secessionist activity. Detained by immigration authorities at the Attari border in December 2023, inquiries were initiated against Gaba, prohibiting him from leaving the country while the probe continued. The NIA's investigation, which involved scrutinizing data from Gaba's mobile phone, confirmed his involvement in the incident. The attack was reportedly a retaliatory move against actions taken by the Punjab Police against Amritpal Singh, leader of Waris Punjab De, aimed at promoting the cause of Khalistan through the secession of Punjab from India.
