Court Hands Life Sentence to Brothers in Four-Year-Old Murder Case

A local court sentenced two brothers, Shiv Shankar Prajapati and Daya Shankar Prajapati, to life imprisonment for a murder committed in 2020. The court also imposed a fine on each convict. The brothers attacked and killed Mahabeer Prajapati over an old dispute.

A local court on Wednesday handed a life sentence to two brothers convicted in a four-year-old murder case.

Additional Sessions Judge Subodh Singh sentenced Shiv Shankar Prajapati, 39, and his elder brother Daya Shankar Prajapati, 44, to life imprisonment for their involvement in a murder. Government Counsel Dinesh Kumar Pandey confirmed the sentencing.

The incident occurred on January 22, 2020, when the brothers fatally attacked Mahabeer Prajapati, 53, with wooden sticks over an old dispute. Following an investigation, police filed a chargesheet against the brothers. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 32,000 on each convict.
