In a significant development for Tripura, Chief Minister Manik Saha has lauded the recent peace agreement signed with two insurgent groups, NLFT and ATTF, as a historic milestone.
The agreement, signed in New Delhi in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, aims to end a decades-long conflict by integrating the insurgent groups back into mainstream society. Saha expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah for their roles in the accord and announced a Rs 250 crore welfare fund for the returnees.
Opposition leader Jitendra Chaudhury emphasized the declining influence of these groups, yet acknowledged their historical impact and the varying political benefits derived from their activities.
