The Bengaluru Police on Wednesday filed a comprehensive chargesheet against 17 individuals accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, including Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda confirmed the preparation of a ''watertight'' chargesheet after thorough investigation. The chargesheet contains statements from 231 witnesses and various technical and electronic evidence.
The 3,991-page document (spanning seven volumes and ten files) has been submitted to the 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court. Among the witnesses, 56 are police officers.
The investigation details, including analysis of call records and tower locations, strengthen the case against the accused, proving their presence at the crime scene. Bloodstains, photographs, and other crucial evidence corroborate the involvement of the accused, including Pavithra Gowda.
The victim, Renukaswamy, had allegedly sent obscene messages to Gowda, leading to his murder. Available reports indicate that Darshan and others, enraged by these actions, orchestrated the crime.
