Malaysia Launches Investigation into Classified Document Leak

Malaysia's foreign ministry announced Wednesday that it would initiate an internal investigation and file a police report concerning a leaked diplomatic note from China's foreign ministry. The sensitive document, sent in February, was published on Aug. 29 by a Philippine media outlet.
The ministry did not disclose the contents of the note but emphasized Malaysia's dedication to safeguarding its sovereignty and sovereign rights in the contested South China Sea. The approach to handling disputes remains peaceful, with ongoing engagement with all involved nations, including China.
Malaysia maintains close and active bilateral ties with China, aiming for peaceful resolutions while defending its territorial integrity.
