A 15-year-old girl from the Thane district in Maharashtra disappeared on Monday after being reprimanded by her parents for overusing her mobile phone, an official stated on Wednesday.
The incident took place around 1.15 pm in the Khoni area of Dombivli, whereupon the teenager left her home and did not come back.
According to the Manpada police's complaint, her parents mentioned that she left after they had scolded her for spending too much time on her mobile phone. The police have since registered a case under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita section 137 (2) for kidnapping, the official added.
