In a major step towards revolutionizing India's agricultural landscape, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, launched the AgriSURE Scheme in New Delhi today. The AgriSURE - Agri Fund for Start-ups & Rural Enterprises is an innovative initiative aimed at fueling growth and fostering innovation in the agricultural and rural start-up ecosystem.

The AgriSURE Fund is a blended capital fund of ₹750 crore, with contributions from the Government of India, NABARD, and private investors, each contributing ₹250 crore. This fund is designed to support technology-driven, high-risk, high-impact ventures in the agricultural sector.

The launch event was attended by Union Ministers of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Bhagirath Choudhary and Shri Ram Nath Thakur, Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi, and other senior officials, alongside representatives from leading banks, state governments, and key stakeholders from the agricultural community.

In his keynote address, Shri Chouhan emphasized the transformative potential of the AgriSURE Fund, highlighting the government's commitment to empowering farmers through technological support and innovation. He stated, "The AgriSURE Fund is a continuation of our efforts to ensure that every farmer in India has the resources needed to thrive. Farming is the backbone of our country, and our farmers are the lifeblood of the economy."

The event also featured the AgriSURE Greenathon Awards, which recognized the most innovative start-ups developing tech-centric solutions to address challenges across the agri-value chain. Greensapio, Krushikanti, and Ambronics were awarded the top prizes out of 10 finalists, selected from over 500 prototypes and 2,000 budding Agri Start-ups.

Dr. Devesh Chaturvedi underscored the importance of start-ups in solving the pressing challenges faced by farmers, stressing the need for innovation in agriculture.

The launch of the AgriSURE Fund marks a significant milestone in India's agricultural start-up ecosystem, providing a unique platform for investment and collaboration aimed at empowering farmers and boosting the rural economy.
