A Delhi Police head constable, identified as Vikas, aged 38, allegedly took his own life on Tuesday, authorities have confirmed. His family has stated he was suffering from depression.

The tragic incident occurred around midnight at his residence in Police Colony, Jyoti Nagar. Vikas had a gunshot wound to the head and had been missing from duty since Friday, according to a senior police officer.

Police were alerted at 12:47 am. Upon arrival, they discovered a country-made pistol, one live bullet, and one spent cartridge at the scene. Further investigations are ongoing.
