Congress leader Sachin Pilot demanded on Tuesday that the Rajasthan government reconstitute the state's public service commission to restore its credibility.
In a fresh statement, Pilot pinpointed significant arrests within the Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) linked to major paper-leak scandals in recruitment exams. These include the apprehension of Babulal Katara and Ramuram Raika for separate offenses last year.
Pilot argued that these arrests severely undermine the credibility of the RPSC, a pivotal constitutional institution. He emphasized that previous concerns regarding the institution's functioning and selection processes are now being validated.
The former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan mentioned that three chargesheets have already been filed against 61 accused individuals in the 2021 Police Sub-Inspector Recruitment Examination's paper-leak case, which encompasses 33 trainee sub-inspectors, selected candidates, and members of the paper-leak gang. A search for 65 additional accused individuals is ongoing.
Pilot pointed out that numerous paper-leak allegations in other exams, including the REET, have crushed the aspirations of countless unemployed youth and distressed their families. He stressed the significant emotional and financial toll these issues have taken on examination candidates and their parents.
Recently, during the budget session of the state Assembly, it was announced that Rajasthan aims to provide four lakh government jobs by March 2025. Pilot urged that maintaining credibility and transparency in upcoming recruitment exams is crucial to reassure the aspirants and their families.
