A tense hearing at Karkardooma court took a violent turn when Salman, an accused in a murder case, attacked his co-defendant Afsar with a sharp piece of tile. Special Judge Alok Shukla was presiding over the case at the time of the attack.

The attacker, Salman, was reportedly frustrated that Afsar had received bail while he remained incarcerated. According to police sources, the murder charge against both men was filed in Krishna Nagar in 2021. Salman had removed the tile from a wall within the court premises, concealing it in his pocket with the intent to harm Afsar.

Afsar sustained a 7x1 cm injury on his left cheek and neck and was swiftly rushed to the hospital for medical attention. Salman has since been arrested, and a separate case under section 118 (1) of BNS has been registered against him. Police continue to investigate the incident.
