The Supreme Court has granted bail to Vijay Nair, the former communications in-charge of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in a money laundering case linked to the Delhi excise policy scam.
Invoking the legal principle that 'bail is the rule and jail is the exception,' the court emphasized that pre-trial incarceration should not serve as punishment.
Delhi minister Atishi and former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia heralded this as a victory for truth, asserting that many AAP leaders have been unjustly jailed in political conspiracies, but true justice has prevailed.
