Deadly Attack Near Hebron: Three Israeli Officers Killed
Three Israeli police officers were killed when their vehicle was attacked near Hebron in the West Bank. Israeli troops are conducting large-scale raids in the area to root out militants. Prime Minister Netanyahu condemned the attack and called for intensified action against Palestinian militants.
Three Israeli police officers were tragically killed on Sunday when their vehicle came under fire near Hebron in the occupied West Bank, according to Israeli officials. The incident adds to a recent spate of violence in the Palestinian territory.
The military confirmed the attack took place at the Idna Tarqumiyah Junction and launched a manhunt for the assailants. Hundreds of Israeli troops have been conducting raids across the West Bank since last Wednesday, targeting Islamist militants amidst ongoing fierce fighting in Gaza, despite ceasefire talks.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated, 'We are fighting on all fronts against a cruel enemy who wants to murder us all,' urging for stronger measures against militants. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich also called for a pre-emptive strike against terrorism. Meanwhile, Hamas praised the West Bank attack, describing it as a 'natural response' to Israel's actions in Gaza, though they did not claim responsibility.
