Supreme Court to Address West Bengal's Bail Challenge in High-Profile Rally Case

The Supreme Court will convene on Monday to address a plea by the West Bengal government challenging the Calcutta High Court's decision to grant bail to an organizer of a contentious march.
The bench, composed of Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, Justice J B Pardiwala, and Justice Manoj Misra, will review the matter involving Sayan Lahiri, the Paschim Banga Chhatra Samaj leader.
Lahiri was granted bail by the Calcutta High Court after being detained for his participation in a rally that escalated into violence. The police allege the rally caused significant public and private property damage and resulted in assaults on officers.
