CJI Chandrachud Calls for Female-Friendly Court Infrastructure

Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud on Sunday emphasized the urgent need to improve female-friendly infrastructure in district courts, highlighting that currently, only 6.7% of such facilities meet this standard.
Speaking at the 'National Conference of the District Judiciary,' Chandrachud underscored the importance of making courts accessible and secure for all societal members, especially women and vulnerable groups. He advocated for initiatives like infrastructural audits, in-court medical facilities, and technological projects such as e-seva Kendras and video conferencing.
Chandrachud also revealed that the first-ever National Lok Adalat recently resolved almost 1,000 cases amicably within five days. The event, organized by the Supreme Court, featured a valedictory address by President Droupadi Murmu, who also unveiled the Supreme Court's flag and insignia.
