Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot sharply criticized the BJP-led state government on Saturday for its handling of escalating crimes against women, labeling sexual violence a blot on society.

Gehlot highlighted that the fifth rape incident involving a minor in 15 days was reported in Jodhpur. Disturbing scenes of brutality related to the latest case surfaced on social media, further heightening public distress.

Expressing concern, Gehlot stated that the average rape incidents of 19 women per day in the state should be an embarrassment for the police and the government. He called upon the authorities to foster a safer environment for women and girls, noting that the situation in Rajasthan has deteriorated seriously.
