West Bengal Congress Chief Accuses Police of House Arrest
West Bengal Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has accused the police of placing the parents of a doctor, who was allegedly raped and murdered, under house arrest. Chowdhury also alleged that the police offered money to the father for a quick cremation of the deceased. The incident has caused junior doctors to cease work in demand for justice and better security measures.

West Bengal Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Saturday accused the police of placing the parents of a doctor, who was allegedly raped and murdered, under house arrest.
Chowdhury, who visited the family's residence, also alleged that the police had offered money to the father to expedite the cremation of his daughter's body.
The body of the post-graduate trainee was discovered at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. Junior doctors have since ceased work, demanding justice and enhanced security. One civic volunteer has been arrested, and the CBI is now investigating the case under a Calcutta High Court order.
